1. Ashish Dhar is not a "trad". Ashish like the majority of native hindus is a traditional hindu. But he is politically aware unlike most traditional hindus today. In the past persons like Ashish Dhar would have been part of the hindu intelligentsia (eg Rishi Aurobindo, Swami Vivekananda) who are grounded in both Dharma and Karma. In contrast to most traditional hindus are only grounded in Dharma. 2. "Trad" refers to followers of the western neoright that grew out of the christian paternalism movement. Both strands can be seen in western thinkers like J. Petersen. Many Indians have imbibed through deracination a lot of tenets of J Petersen and sought to import it into Hinduism. These can be referred to as "indian trads". They support western ideas like AIT, atheism, stereotyping etc which have nothing to do with hindu tradition although they pretend otherwise. This latter group is small and they just copy the western RW systems. Within this group there are true believers and others who do not really understand that they are being misled and think that the "indian trad" is real hindutva (hindu defense). The western views harbored by "Trads" are very close to those of the "raytas" except they may differ in terms of opposition or endorsement. (Some elements of western trad doctrine may unwittingly be espoused by #1, and wittingly espoused by #3). 3. Then there are colonial collaboratoring hindus, ie "Raytas", who spread misinformation on hinduism and support the colonial and neocolonial discourses seen in the indian left including modernism (western deracination). They do so openly while the left does it surreptitiously. 4. Roushan is actually not a rayta. He is just a confused slightly deracinated hindu. Many are like Roushan and they have no ideological axe to grind, they simply approach things on a case-by-case basis, are risk averse, and live for their amusement.
